Adding Questions Inside a Video

Pause a video mid-way to ask a question, then continue — without any special element, using two video segments and a Question between them.

What you'll learn

  • Splitting a video into two segments at a specific timestamp
  • Placing a Question element between the segments
  • Using Success and Failure transitions to branch mid-video
  • Checking comprehension without breaking the flow

The pattern

There's no direct "question inside a video" element, but the workflow is straightforward — split the video into two pages with a Question in between.

Step 1 — First video segment

Create a page and upload your video. Use the Select Interval button to trim it to the point where you want the question to appear.

Step 2 — Second video segment

Create a second page, upload the same video, and set the interval to start exactly where the first one left off.

Step 3 — Question in the middle

Place a Question element between the two pages. Configure its type, prompt, and correct answer.

Step 4 — Connect the transitions

  • From the first video page → default connection leads into the Question.
  • From the Question → Success Transition goes to the second video segment.
  • From the Question → Failure Transition sends learners back to a review page, or to the beginning.

Why this works

Learners watch the first part, have to answer before continuing, and the video picks up right where it paused. It's a simple way to check comprehension mid-video without breaking the flow or needing any special element.

Try it yourself

Open one of your courses with a longer video and split it at the key teaching moment. A well-placed question turns passive watching into active learning.
