How Much Does an LMS Actually Cost in 2026? Real Numbers, Including Ours
Published LMS pricing across the market, plus our own worked seat math, including exactly where the per-user cost rises as your team grows.
Most LMS pricing pages are designed to avoid answering this question directly. Either the price isn't published at all ("contact sales"), or it's published in a way that hides what happens once you add your 30th, 50th, or 100th user. This post is our attempt at the opposite: real published numbers across the market, and our own seat-by-seat math with nothing left out, including the part where our own per-user cost goes up.

By our count, five of the nine platforms we checked don't publish a starting price at all. If a vendor won't put a number on the page, budget time for a sales cycle, not just a monthly fee, and expect the eventual number to reflect that process.

Here's exactly what Konstantly costs at different team sizes, with the formula shown so you can check it yourself. Business plan includes 25 seats at the base price; additional seats are $2.75/user/month (or $27.50/user/year on annual billing).

Notice the effective per-user cost rises as you add seats past the included 25. That's not a hidden fee, it's just what "$2.75 per extra seat" compounds to as a share of a growing headcount. We'd rather show you that curve than pretend the price stays flat, because it doesn't, and every vendor's does something similar once you look past the entry tier.
Where "cheap" plans stop being cheap
Three patterns we found worth knowing before you shop:
1. The AI credit pack. Several platforms bundle basic features into the subscription, then sell AI course generation separately as metered credits. Once you're generating content regularly, that add-on can meaningfully change your real monthly cost. Konstantly includes AI course generation on every plan (a fair-use cap of 500 generations per user per month applies, not a credit pack you have to top up).
2. The quote-only floor. When a vendor doesn't publish pricing, the number you eventually get typically reflects the sales process itself: expect implementation fees, minimum seat commitments, and annual contracts to be part of the conversation, not just a per-seat rate.
3. The demo-gated entry tier. Some platforms marketed as "affordable" still require a sales call before you see a number. Budget the time cost of that process, not just the dollar figure at the end of it.
What we don't charge for
To be specific about our own model: no setup fee, no minimum contract length on monthly billing, no separate charge for SCORM/PowerPoint import, and no metered AI credits. The one place cost does scale is seats beyond the included 25 on Business, at the flat $2.75/user/month rate shown above.

No. The prices above are the complete cost; there's no separate implementation or onboarding fee on the Business plan.
What happens to pricing above 100 users?
The same $2.75/user/month (or $27.50/year) rate continues to apply per additional seat above the included 25 on Business. At very large scale (500+ users), Enterprise pricing is quote-based and includes options like single-tenant deployment that aren't part of Business.
Do any competitors publish real per-user pricing?
Yes, some do. 360Learning publishes roughly $8/user/month. TalentLMS publishes a flat entry tier ($119/mo) rather than a strict per-user rate. Most enterprise-tier platforms (Docebo, Cornerstone, SAP Litmos, Absorb) are quote-only.
Does the AI generation cap ever run out mid-course?
The cap is 500 generations per user per month, refreshing monthly. For context, drafting a full multi-lesson course typically uses a small fraction of that in a single sitting; the cap is designed to catch abuse, not normal course-building use.
