AI Presenter — narrate your lessons with a synthetic voice
Turn a lesson script into spoken narration inside a video lesson, using ElevenLabs text-to-speech. Available on Business and Enterprise; an administrator enables it and chooses the voice and limits.
AI Presenter turns a written script into spoken narration inside a video lesson, so a slide deck can talk without anyone recording audio. It uses ElevenLabs text-to-speech.
Narration is billed per character of script, so it is off until an administrator deliberately turns it on. Nothing generates by accident.
Before you start
Three things have to be true before an author sees the feature at all:
- Your plan includes it — AI Presenter is a Business and Enterprise feature.
- An administrator has enabled it in Settings → AI → AI Presenter (narration). It is off by default.
- An ElevenLabs key is available — either your own (added in the same screen) or one configured for the platform. If neither exists, the settings screen says so plainly: *"No ElevenLabs key is configured on this platform. Enabling AI Presenter will not produce any narration."*
If any of the three is missing, the narration controls simply don't appear in the editor. There is no half-working state.
Turning it on (administrators)
Go to Settings → AI, find AI Presenter (narration), and switch on Enable AI Presenter.
Your own ElevenLabs key
Paste an ElevenLabs API Key to run narration through your own ElevenLabs account. Two things change when you do:
- generation is billed to your ElevenLabs account, not ours
- you can raise or lower the limits below — on a shared platform key, Konstantly's limits apply and cannot be edited
The key is stored write-only: after saving you see Replace with new key… rather than the value. Removing it falls back to the platform key, if one exists.
> Paste the whole key. A truncated key is ignored and narration silently stops working — the screen warns you if what you pasted looks too short.
Default voice
Default voice is used whenever an author doesn't pick one themselves. The list is loaded from your ElevenLabs account; if it can't be reached you can type a voice ID by hand. Choose No default — authors choose to make every author pick deliberately.
Limits
Three limits protect you from a surprise bill. The defaults are:
| Limit | Default | What it caps |
|---|---|---|
| Max script length | 20,000 characters | one generation |
| Minutes per author per day | 30 | a single author's daily output |
| Minutes per account per day | 120 | everyone in your account, combined, per day |
They are only editable with your own ElevenLabs key. Setting a limit to 0 does not block generation — the server treats it as unset and falls back to the default, so use a real number.
Narrating a lesson (authors)
Open a video lesson. Where you would normally upload a video, you'll now also see:
- Generate with AI — create narration for a lesson that has no video yet
- Replace with AI narration — swap an existing track for a generated one
Either opens the narration panel, where you write or edit the script, pick a voice, and generate. The result becomes the lesson's audio track, and your pages stay pinned to the same timeline positions.
Costs, plainly
Narration is charged per character of the script, by ElevenLabs, every time you generate. Regenerating the same lesson with a different voice is charged again.
Two habits keep the cost sane:
- edit the script until you're happy with the words, *then* choose the voice — not the other way around
- keep the per-author and per-account daily limits set to numbers you'd be comfortable seeing on an invoice
If something doesn't work
The narration controls aren't there. One of the three conditions above isn't met — most often the plan or the administrator toggle.
"Your plan no longer includes AI Presenter." The entitlement changed while the screen was open. Reload to see the current settings.
Narration fails or produces nothing. Check that the ElevenLabs key is complete and the account has credit remaining. The voice list failing to load is a good sign the key can't reach ElevenLabs.
